Summer vacations across Ireland and Northern Ireland. We visited major cities and towns across the island including Dublin, Cork, Killarney, Limerick, Galway, and Belfast among others. We camped most of the time but we also stayed at at Hostel in Dublin. Among the 4 of us we rented a car and drove around the backcountry visiting National parks, Castles and ruins, historic sites and villages and small towns in between. The length of the trip was 14 days. Ireland is still a very unspoiled country with lots of nature and history. The Irish people are one of the most friendly people I have ever come across...
And we hiked for about an hour or so, looking for the ruins, it was a cold and foggy day. The place was empty and isolated, Sarah and I stopped for a minute or so as we heard something coming from the lake, a clapping sound, it would come and go after several seconds, clap, clap, clap. We got closer and it got louder and louder, we couldn't see what it was, we finally gave up and ran away!
We carried on, back to the main trail and around the lake.
At the other side of the lake we saw a bunch of birds swimming and clapping their winds against the water, oh wait a second, that was the stupid sound that freaked us out!!!
